The American Field Trip

Hey guys! This United States National Park Centennial thing is serious.

We've been flying people between Anchorage, the Lake Clark National Park, and Katmai National Park for the past two years - as everyone and their kids want to see all 59 US National Parks. What a great goal!

If you're looking for air transportation to the remote Alaskan National Parks,
check out how The American Field Trip did it.

This young family left with exceptional Lake Clark National Park memories and you'll absolutely love it here too!

We can't wait to show you around the Lake Clark National Park, aka our backyard!

Flying to Port Alsworth - Lake Clark Mountain Pass Entrance

On your flight from Anchorage to Port Alsworth you'll pass Moose Ridge.
Moose Ridge is the name of the foothills which connect the plains of the Cook Inlet with the entrance to the Lake Clark Mountain Pass.
Yes, there are often moose here. And eagles. And even glaciers.

In the spring you'll see patches of snow next to green trees,

topped off with blue skies and puffy clouds. It's dreamy really.

Come see it all when you fly with us!

Alaskan Volcano & Glacier Flight Tour!

We have a couple active volcanos in the Lake Clark National Park. Usually steaming, the Mt Redoubt volcano is en route between Anchorage and Port Alsworth.
The other, Mt. Iliamna, is visible too and we fly right next to it on our flight to/from Silver Salmon Creek on our Port Alsworth based Bear-Watching Tour.

Both of these volcanos are covered in glaciers and rise high above the surrounding mountains in the Aleutian Mountain Range. Our passengers love the views!!

Hey, you should be a passenger on our Fire & Ice Flight Tour - you'll see several volcanoes and glaciers.

Just give us a call and let us know when you'd like to go!

Lake Clark Mountain Pass - Summit Lake Glaciers

Here in the middle of the Lake Clark Mountain Pass is Summit Lake,
which is fed by melting glaciers on both sides.

Jacque Wilder (LPA founder) remembers flights with her father in the 1950's
- who homesteaded on Lake Iliamna in the 40's -
when the glaciers were connected and planes had to fly up and over them.

Here's her son Lyle (LPA owner) documenting it's receded location 60+ years later.
Even on a cloudy day, it's beautiful here.

This is one of the many sights you'll see on your flight
between Anchorage and Port Alsworth.
