If you live in Port Alsworth...

...you'll have to travel by small plane for things like Movies. Shopping. Stop lights.

Here's Dave leaving the Port Alsworth ramp in Old Faithful - 09Z.
This flight is headed to Anchorage with a load of people who have grocery lists,
Dr. appointments, and the hope of eating at a restaurant!
Port Alsworth is an amazing place to live - and the lack of amenities is the draw for some folks. However, every once in a while it's fun/necessary to hop on a Lake and Pen Air flight and fly the very scenic route to the big city for a couple days.

When a Port Alsworth resident brings all their newly purchased supplies to our Anchorage office for their return flight home - 99% of the time they are sooooo looking forward to getting out of the hectic city, away from the hideous traffic, and the maddening crowds of people - everywhere...

Having a home in Port Alsworth requires quite a bit of effort and resources,
but it's spacious, quiet, and offers all of the outdoors you could dream of.

Well, there they go... see you in a few days neighbors!
Interested in seeing this Bush Alaska village?
We'd love to bring you out!

Hot tip for traveling in Alaska.

On a flight from Anchorage to Stoney River, in interior Alaska (with what seemed like 1000 gallons of ice-cream), we flew by this gorgeous sight. The sun fell on the puffy clouds above while it rained dark underneath, and the land glowed golden.
Hot tip: When flying in Alaska, always have your camera ready!

#OptOutside in Alaska's Lake Clark National Park!

Tanalian Mountain, towering over the tiny Alaskan bush village of Port Alsworth, is just one of the named mountains along the edge of Lake Clark.

It's also one of the last 3000'+ mountains on the West side of the Aleutian Range, before it dwindles into marshlands near Lake Iliamna, just a 20 minute flight West.
Above: Tanalian Mountain is on the left, just behind Tommy Island.

Many of these peeks have been scaled by the adventurous, and they claim the effort is worth it. Summer climbing is easier than winter, but winter is just as beautiful.

This Thanksgiving #OptOutside in Port Alsworth,
or anywhere in the Lake Clark National Park.

And make sure to call Lake and Pen Air for your flight!
